Mendenhall, International Alliance of Cartographers and Geographers Louis Streitmatter (b. 1940) began surprising map enthusiasts with his exciting work in 1961. Students of cartography still study his work, including the influential An Impressionistic Shaded Relief Map of The Grand Canyon, and A Physiographic Map of Dayton, Ohio. After almost three decades of radio silence, Streitmatter has emerged with the culmination of his life's work, the controversial A New Map of America. He currently resides in Vermont where he spends most of his time alone. James Brubaker (b. 1947) has worked as an editor at numerous independent and university presses. In his retirement, he collects antique maps and is learning how to cook. He lives in Oklahoma with his wife and three cats. |
